6B5 Body Armor Replacement Shoulder Straps (Repro, Set of 2)

This is a reproduction set of the adjustable shoulder straps found on the 6B5 series body armor. These strap set is purpose-built to replace damaged, rotted, or missing webbing on authentic vests. The metal tips are original surplus which was harvested from soviet era belts, because of this discoloration or surfaces may not be consistent/ clean.

Why Restore Your Straps?

While 6B5 vests are iconic pieces of kit from the late 1980s through the Chechen Wars, the original materials haven't always aged well.

• The "Rust-Rot" Effect: Most surplus vests suffer from rusted steel grommets that have chemically degraded the surrounding cotton over the decades.

• Structural Failure: Heavy titanium or ceramic plates often cause the original eyelets to pull through the old webbing.

These replacements allow you to restore the structural integrity of your armor without having to track down a second "donor" vest.

Installation

Any local tailor, or alteration shop should be able to swap these for you. Keep in mind altering any vintage gear always carries risks of further damage. The straps mounting points will need to be taken apart to allow the replacements to be installed. Bring in the rear of the vest and have them take a look.
